Hi @Linda Quinton Many areas of Florida were building like crazy during the boom and lots were selling for a huge premium, however since the crash have come back down in price to long term averages.

Since you have time on your side do your research, be ready to buy, and wait for a dip in the RE market which I think is coming (just a dip not a full on crash).

We're operating commercial businesses in residential neighborhoods with residential regulations and residential loan products because legislators have been slow to adjust to the fact that Airbnb isn't just people letting someone crash on their couch anymore. 

After the market crash, started in 2008 I waited till 2010 to be sure the market had really bottomed out.       

Prices seem to be declining steadily but not crashing. 

What I do love about having the retirement accounts is they are safe from creditors and financial crashes.

We built the house (about 80% of it) right before the market crashed.

Hi Lisa,Maybe think about installing a commercial steel door and steel door frame, with a key outside and a crash-bar opener inside.Renters and visitors will feel more comfortable if they have a clear view inside before going in, so a window (with chicken wire in it) might be a good idea.If the hinges are exposed get non-removable hinge pins.Also, if it's allowed in your area good building security means only one entry and access point.

These people were hurt by the housing crash but now are back on their feet with good income and better credit to get a mortgage loan.

During the crash prices held pretty flat even as sales fell.
