What has gotten me thinking about this is the Rich Dad Pour Dad concept that your house is not an asset although I would not have the options I have now without having purchased my home.

We could convert the basement apartment into our own living space at any time after the lease ends and enjoy another 1100 sf of living space, complete with a open concept kitchen/living area, 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom.As you can tell, I'm a big hype man for househacking.However, I just (like as in Friday 4/30/21) purchased a property near downtown Greensboro with 2 doors that we are going to rent out as a pure long term rental.
