However, if you see property that is directly in the path of progress where you see a 2x or 3x return on your money in the next 2 - 3 years, I'd say that's worth taking the gamble over having consistent income or growth from another asset or stock.

First of all the problem as I understand it - some convenience centers are filling up too fast and are closing early presumably due to short term rental trash increase.
