I just stayed in an awesome STR in VA, it literally had part of the floor in particle board (but done in a way as to be sorta artistic), never gave the floors a second thought because everything else was so well done, all amenities, etc. 

I have two very similar pool cabins, similar in size and amenities.

Better to have at least some moderate quality photos of an added amenity rather than none; by spending 100 dollars every time this happens, costs accumulate quickly, which more than exceed the cost of a professional camera. 

We've stayed at STRs in the Isle of Palms, loved the location and amenities and management was responsive when an issue needed to be addressed.

Pet fees are in place at our properties to offset the costs associated with having pets in the units - pets do a lot of damage to properties and we do maintain certain amenities at the property specifically for pets.

I think as of right now it would be wise to account for all the competition that has entered the market More than ever make sure you have the amenities, what part of town are you in.
