I typically opted for roughly 3 draws per deal, just to limit draw costs.Also, all of my lenders charged me interest on the full loan balance at closing, even though I hadn't drawn the whole loan (which annoyed me, but I get their perspective).So really, in my experience, I didn't find any to be "better or worse" they all seemed to have their own trade offs, i.e. more general accounting was easier for me, but higher draw cost.

At some point 8-10 years did a portfolio loan with good tax returns and ended up using a lot of cash and that loan to buy 2 strs in Myrtle- ocean lakes. we currently have 20 units and Two are str's.theres really no short cut, we built a ton of equity by buying at the right time and fixing up ourselves (I'm a contractor).wr bought the two strs in 2020 and 2022.

If your rentals have a small loan amount remaining and you still have enough spread in between from your current loan amount to the loan to value and if that's enough money needed to fund your next deal then the Heloc will make sense for you.
