One thing I've noticed in several metropolitan areas is that once a neighborhood is sufficiently sketchy, the stores will stop being well-known national or regional brands, and become things you've never heard of.

I know the corner variety store owner doesn't care much if a candy bar or a chocolate bar sells more but I'm sure they will replace the product just as fast and repeat the process.
