Good afternoon fellow Texans,I am facing an issue where I requested a water shut off list from my near by cities and the complied with my request, however, they were returned with just an address and no names.I have requested to have the lists be sent to me with names on the properties and I was told that because of Texas law that is confidential.How are wholesalers and/or investors getting around this?

I do see your concern, and you are right to be concerned.I don't know the contingencies you have in your purchase deal, but if your deal is contingent on getting bank financing, you may be in luck. if so, I know my banker would gladly listen to a request from me to deny my loan amount for this deal.

We had tenant mail in the request for reasonable accommodation as suggested by Disability Rights nonprofit organization as they advised that if it gets denied, they have to state the reason and then we can file Fair Housing Discrimination Claim.We also don't have much resources to fight the legal battle, but we won't have any resources for discrimination claim penalties if filed by the tenant.

Current lease and security deposit was requested but the seller's attorney says that it is month to month with no lease and no security deposit, they are offering an estoppel letter from the tenant.

Simply do an Open Records Request with the city/county to get the address, status of the letter being sent (ist notice, 2nd ect), the Parcel ID and street address.For your city https://fiscalofficer.cuyahoga... would be a great place to send in a request for a GIS parcel file, that contains Parcel ID, street address, tax/sales and owner info.
