The Papersource materials are good basic documents at a very price and I always encourage a "learn by doing' method to learn. 

All the podcasts and learning materials put out on this site are golden! 

@brian Watson Why not just use yellow letters.com I think if you do the math your cost will be the same whether you buy the materials bad printer yourself or have them do it.

I agree with Jeff that for the first couple of projects that you use a seasoned construction professional which allows you access to his network of subcontractors and sources of materials.

Also, most of the programs I've seen that are all online offer you access to the material for 6 months and if you need it longer, you may be able to get an extension. 

I absolutely have no need for buying new possessions and material goods do not make me happy.
