House hack!

Like a lot of cities in California, San Mateo has a housing shortage, which can be seen through the high costs of housing and the increasing homeless population.

Can anyone advise me on where I should start my journey on house flipping and what the best first step would be?

It is an older house built in 1893.Definitely re-thinking.

at what point does it make sense to use a heloc on an investment propertywould you use one to buy the property cash (house is worth $50k) not a lot of room for appreciation, but the rents make sense for me to sit and hold it.in what situation have you guys used a heloc?

I will try the enzymes, and white vinegar with kitty litter next time.I sold a house with beautiful wood floors...seller's cats would go to 3 specific corners and urinate.

If you're an unsecured creditor, you're kinda screwed as you might only get 10% or your money, but since you're providing their housing, you're likely going to come out OK.
