Mazatlan is located 20 minutes south, a nice tourist city on the Pacific Ocean known for its Banda music scene and Japanese inspired restaurants.I bought the land in 2022 thinking I would build a vacation home/rental within 2-3 years, but with changing financial priorities, I will not be building or developing anything in Mexico for around 6-7 years from now.

Having the tenant  makes it:A) harder to show the property, making it harder to sellB) prevents a majority of owner occupant buyers from being able to offer on the home.

I still have many years before I can retire and withdraw penalty free, but I was investigating and saw I’m able to take out a loan against my savings and could use it for a home purchase.This gives me a bit a cash to play with but wanted to check if others have considered the same?

My thinking is to initially give a 2 or 3 year interest only loan to my REI company. 2 to 3 year should be enough to purchase, rehab/improve and stabilize the property. 5.

My power doesn't "go out", but prevented from pulling all it's capable of and switching around the system to different homes to lessen the pull.
