Adverse possession is not something that is granted immediately, it takes many years of you yourself occupying the property for you to gain any rights to that property.You remind me of an acquaintance of mine, he believed in personal liberties and that it was unlawful for the government to mandate he obtain a drivers license in order to drive since regulating the act of driving violated his 'freedom of travel'.

Doing a BRRR in Northern CA is a long shot...... you have to have a great network to find those deal and a ton of time and $$ to do all the rehab yourselfYoung, single with a steady job, you have the freedom to do some stuff you wont want to do once you are married, kids etc..... like living in a smaller duplex/triplex with close neighbors, no yard or having actual roommates etc.
