Sometimes that involves omitting features in favour of a more succinct experience - one that is more appropriate on a mobile device - but those features will probably be there on the "shrunk-down" mobile web site, should users need them.There are pros and cons of both native apps and mobile web sites, some of which you've correctly identified in your post.
