Does anyone have a good source where I could network with acquisition managers for real estate investing companies?

We tell the tenants we need to know who is in the building, what their sources of income are, etc. 

I'm sure you and your friend have a great relationship, but a "string of acquaintances" doesn't sound like the most trustworthy source if you're going to be investing large sums of money in all honesty.there's a lot of homework that needs to be done.

My favorite strategy though is performing real estate notes if you ultimately want cashflow.

My background is in operations, project management, and graphic design (my favorite).

I would suggest talking to multiple legal sources to get a well-rounded opinion.
