Nothing wrong with investing in those bigger markets but it's probably going to put you in at a higher price.

This issue has been discussed in various other posts, which you can research here as it has been discussed many, many times.Your other earned income outside of the rental will also have an impact as to whether or not any losses in your rental will be deductible.

I’m also somewhat new at bigger pockets looking at getting into my first deal!

Sadly this doesn’t work and is going to cause you frustration and a loss of money .
