Do you winterize your house at the end of season?

Closed during winter months due to heating cost.

If it's a light renovation that will take 1-2 months probably not -- you don't want to have to worry about finding a tenant in the down/winter season.

If tenants give me notice far enough in advance and its not the dead of winter or something that is difficult for renting I am open to working with them.

Then factor in the 2 seasons that draw people to the area: 1) Summer - people down south want to get away from the heat 2) Winter - people want to see snow and experience a real winter.Then throw in various events like a Bluegrass Festival, Western days, Rodeos, Etc....IMO one of the best places I've seen to operate a STR.

Johnsbury, Burke, Lyndon) we ski there in the winter and would a duel Vacation property for us and STR for when we aren't.  

Specifically Winter Haven, Auburndale, and Lakeland areas seem to be growing rapidly.

. $600/mo includes a boat dock here in Indy on a reservoir, tennis courts, pool, a clubhouse, winter snow removal services and landscaping but no utilities- not even trash pickup.
