Common fees will include a set-up fee, a leasing fee for each turnover or a lease renewal fee, marking up maintenance, retaining late fees, and more.

I'd drill and have a well to call my own.

I heard of a situation (I forget the institution name) that also had the same set up as Baselane.

House Hacking is a great start, but I would suggest you set up a few meetings with local agents and brokerages that are investor-friendly to help you determine which areas in your market are best.

Many of my clients jumped on this and it worked out well for them. 

I have set a goal to save up at least 25k in 1 year to invest in a house hack, whether that by a duplex triplex or fourplex.

Can you or will you set 2 year leases (instead of 1) (because each time you turnover you've got costs), etc. 

However, because they cash flow well, it can be difficult to get deals in those areas sometimes, but we come across them quite often.
