Hi everyone,I’m exploring the idea of purchasing a property in Big Bear Lake, CA to use as a short-term rental (Airbnb), and I’d love to hear from anyone with experience in the area.

I might use a lower ARV if I know my market slows down during my projected timeframe to sell, but all of this is done before I buy the property.

Husband was supposed to take over the mortgage, but didnt qualify.Last summer, she decided to take her kids and move to a neighboring city.

Current owner is asking WAY too much (2.5 assessment), and they do Airbnb with it. 

Be sure to really dig into it, talk to others in your market, and make an informed decision.
