On the downside it can be a bit of a pain getting to and from Vancouver Island though, so if your investing on the mainland and your investment approach requires more hand on/in-person work that might be a difficulty situation.

Taxes are ideally paid directly to the city and defaults give the original seller the right to foreclose on that specific unit.If this can be done then the lack of HOA appeal can be kept and there should be no downside to skipping the HOA that I can see.

I've used them.On the positive side, it is nice to have one provide that can cover across many states.On the downside, to provide those competitive quotes, they often have exclusions that reduce coverage normally included in a DP3 policy.

I don't know, but I think wholesaling as it is often practiced today exists in kind of a grey area, the downside of which is that insurance coverage may not provide the level of protection one would hope for.
