You are right, the losers are the children, but in reality no one wins. 

Check that out for your area.For us, we don't mind roommate situations that change (or adult children moving in and out of their parents' home) or other changes in household make up.

If they bring children, how well behaved are the children... supervised or unsupervised?

He has allowed his children to write on the walls, kick in the wall, broken two windows and clogged the sink too many times that I can't remember.

-Have a fire plan-Have working smoke detectors and fire extinguishers-Teach your children and your tenants what to do in case of a fire-Have proper insurance-Don't run your clothes dryer unsupervised-Thank a fireman

I've discovered that tenants can be a bit like children with the tattling and lying and the bullcrap they try to pull.If the first tenant files another complaint after that, you're going to be in the unfortunate position of pitting them against each other.  

I'd also argue that you owe it to your other tenants who have children to act as fast as possible in this situation. 

Actually, that restriction applies only to lineal family members (i.e. parents, children, etc.  

In general, a single man doesn't have as much to lose as a single mom with two young children.
