I'm on a huge dilema; i bought a pre construction condo on Guadalajara (where i live) since our mortgage interest rate are above 10% i loved the idea to own a condo while paying cash but differed thru 18 months (2 million pesos; aprox 100 000 dollars) it was a great deal; it went up aprox 60% 18 months after getting my keys and got out nice 7 - 8% return by airbnb (after tax and after host fees; i don't do much).

I also host a local real estate meetup (Worcester Pints and Properties) every month at the Hangover Pub in Worcester, the next meetup is on 7/20 at 6:30 pm.

Since 2006, I have managed and co-hosting short term/corporate rentals.

Definitely check out local real estate investing groups on meetup or local facebook groups to see who you can network with and to hear real life experiences of other investors as that might give you insight.In so cal and in seattle we host multiple events to help bring REI's together to network.
