Could you shed me some light if it's the usual practice in Detroit?

I don't either, living in Idaho and practicing law in California. 

However, she is not a practicing attorney in the state.

Any advice anyone could provide about how to navigate this situation, and what are some best practices, even personal stances on the matter would be very much appreciated.
