With the internet these days, a company can look and sound big but could be a scam operation out of someone's basement. 

It is difficult to see why your software is any different than the thousands of others on the internet and why do you think you can create something better and something more useful?

@Michael Moskos your strategy is totally fine, but I think you are looking in too broad of an area.

You also get to depreciate 3% of that 4MM a year... so that’s the first $120,000 in taxable earnings that you make tax free, beyond all the other write offs... cars, insurance, health insurance, phones, internet, business meals... oh... and actual property expenses too!

I have never had any dealings with this individual or any of the people who lost money but in today’s day and age once it hits the internet the word gets out there.

Google these, there are internet based companies that offer them ay great prices.

The internet is not qualified.When you take a distribution from an IRA, the amount of the distribution is considered income and added to your other income for the year to determine your tax amount due.  

I used to pay through the nose for income tax on my internet retail business - lots of revenue and really only COGS to offset it the income.
