Our new venture is called the the Shimron Investment Group (SIG) and our focus is managing construction projects for single and multi-family homes in North Jersey. 

As someone that has done 10's of thousands of calls (for real estate and other ventures) over the past 15 years, I'd like to chip in my two cents here:1.

These have been successful ventures for us, and we wanted to expand our reach in this area, since we are about 11 years away from retirement.

I would suggest learning a little about the different areas of investing to choose one or two to venture into.

I personally don't recommend buying anything you can't drive to and see on a regular basis without impacting your life too much so maybe venture a little farther from your neighborhood, but not necessarily across country to other states, and see what's out there. 

My goal is to get one here for stability and venture out to less expensive markets.  

Real estate is my first venture to do just that, and I am very new to real estate.
