In the mean time, I've found BP and plan to use it to stay sharp financially. 

Taking pills in this country is a huge problem as people are masking the pain and not getting to the root of the issue because they do not want to face it.

I'd say Shane is right, with #1, stay put and accelerate your payments, and work on refinancing the property so that you can get out of it without a the pain of losing 40k or the huge hit it is going to be to your credit.If your condo is on Rio Del Mar, VBRO (AirBnB, Short term Rental) might definitely be the way to go.

That being said I understand your pain when it comes to investing in the Vancouver , Portland ares. i helped a buddy run numbers on a duplex in Vancouver and they just didn't work.
