Hi all,I'm thinking of purchasing a condo that is located quite literally right next door to a fire station.My question is: this whole condo community is essentially next door to the fire station, but my unit is the closest to both the side road and the fire station.I am wondering how much of a "discount" you would need to feel comfortable buying this unit (as compared to another similar unit/floorplan that is nestled more comfortably inside the inner ring of the community. 

I live on the busiest road in town, a state road, and there’s no way in hell the town did not know there was work going on here and just decided to wait until I own the property to hold me accountable for anything that’s not right.

I would also look down the road, and see once you move out of the duplex would it be a good rental then.

Like many northern states, IL is considered tenant friendly and has a larger possibility of causing you problems down the road (esp as a new investor).Don't take my word for it, do some research.

His idea of paying down the mortgage faster means in the short term, less money in your pocket, but 10 years down the road you will have a lot more money in your pocket as the mortgage will be paid off.
