I was more so asking what would the difference be and what your group would offer.A couple of clarifications.The WNY REI group does charge a membership and last I knew it was only $80 for the year with that though they did provide food at the end of each meeting.The exchangers group did not charge.New BP group, also no fees.

@Bill Gulley I agree with you, but as mentioned you almost have to take into account that she will need to support her fiance and when you add utilities, cost of food, costs for maintaining those pets, gas, car insurance, etc., it does add up very quickly.

Combined with the fact that I like to eat, and food costs money, which doesn't grow on trees (although it is regularly printed in Washington, DC).
