This was not true but my relative was trying to get their neighbors to care more about the appearance of their home so theirs would be easier to sell.

It's weird that you assume one tax pro's published statement is  more true than another one's. 

Building true wealth is not how many doors you have mortgages to the hilt but how much equity you have.
