As Joe mentioned, you are paying the interest back into your TSP account, so you aren't "losing" money by paying interest which is very nice. 

For context, I have a business degree in marketing (not good I know) and work for the biggest single family rental company in the US doing entry level customer service.

You think if there was escrow account, mortgage co was paying taxes out of escrow. 

The most dangerous kind of aluminum wire was mostly only used for residential wiring from ~’65-‘73 when copper was prohibitively expensive (Al alloys that are less dangerous were used with less frequency post-‘73, and Al is still a common material for transmission and distribution lines, and even some residential use like AC units or single branch circuits, but not very common in residential wiring).

@Laura Winegardneri think it will probably be difficult to find a lender that would take into account 'potential' STR income... but even if they did, yes, i think that would be risky. 

Do you recommend we use accounting software?
