I tend to avoid confrontation anyway, but on the tenant's turf with threatening friends and no long-term track record with the tenant, I would have taken a more "oh, new locks?

If the liens are recorded.. they are acting LIENS...to do what there supposed to do ...Lien...Any prudent buyer would have a title search done on the property prior to closing to make sure there are NOT any liens on it, and to be safe buy title insurance....Deals don't have to be complicated to be good deals.Caveat emptor !

I pay for full background checks which include the credit report.I have seen forged paychecks and other records, so a forged credit report would not be surprising.
