I recently started a home improvement company - albeit mostly to get my sparsely-employed-as-of-late-contractor-boyfriend off the couch..( He is great at what he does, not so at sales, marketing, follow up, paperwork, keeping books, which I am now handling, along with some light assistance to actual physical work)...Anyway I'm starting my first rehab shortly and was planning to just do the work (it's a light job) between he, I and maybe another guy we know.

This could be corrected if they were able to learn the same cool strategies that you learn by reading books, courses, tapes, online, etc...The problem with this is that most of your family members probably aren't interested in Real Estate investing.

I'm also a double major in Real Estate & Urban Land Economics and Finance so I have a good handle on the basics of the business.After all these books, websites and postings I have read, I've narrowed my interest down to wholesaling for now.

I really should know this after reading the books I own on REI but I have not come across it..If for instance you make an offer on the house, and it is accepted (over the phone, not having seen the property) are you obligated to buy the house even before you see it, what legal obligations are there, they're are ways around it arent they?

There are opportunities out there to make money in notes but I'll stick to things that aren't taught in seminars and books for now.
