The protected classes of the Fair Housing Act are race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability.The guidance states that when a housing provider’s seemingly neutral policy or practice has a discriminatory effect, such as restricting access to housing on the basis of criminal history, and has a disparate impact on individuals of a particular race, national origin, or other protected class, the policy or practice is unlawful under the Fair Housing Act if it is not necessary to serve a substantial, legitimate, nondiscriminatory interest of the housing provider, or if the interest could be served by another practice that has a less discriminatory effect.

@Jake Knight  well having grown up in Cupertino and bought my first home in Milpitas ( circa 1975) then living in Palo Alto for most of the 80's I understand fully the lack of distressed Real estate at times in santa clara county.. it was usually in East San jose barrios were you found that stuff.what I like about foreclosure radar is the app were you can drive around and non owner occ is color coded so those of you that like to drive for dollars looking for dumps can get a real time view of who are owners who are not and such.but I was really talking about Oakland there are foreclosure there still.

I didn't think that profession or employer were protected classes.Protected classes are race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and familial status.

And because they needed these units released like two weeks ago (or longer), they offer and even outline in bold raised and even highlighted rainbow colors waiving last months rent and sometimes even waiving first and last, or last and security which is even more brainless, just to get how ever many vacancies they had filled fast.
