I actually lost my superhost status over a double booking that occurred when my town's internet went down for a day, when it came back on I was double booked. 

Accidents only happen occassionally, and death only once, so why waste money on monthly premiums?

We knew this was going to occur, but it had a pyschological impact on us both, especially b/c we were spending on (2) rental properties.2.

The issue was resolved as this occurred four years ago and there were no other bedbug complaints since.

It seems once again that investors are buying rental property that doesn't cash flow and planning on continued price appreciation(that may not occur).

So should be accounted for as immediate and/or future Capex.What I prefer about older properties: settling has occurred and any foundation issues are generally evident, which cannot be said for new construction.

Also, I wonder if there is any way to plug the triangular gaps that occur between the siding and the back of the trim boards.
