That can make the taxes go up.If they raise the valuation higher than the price you paid you will need to protest the valuation. 

You will have to wait until the city/town does another round, or you can file a protest of the current assessment.

And wouldnt the second would most likely bid to protest their interest.I've only discounted my notes from face value at the trustee sale auction, so I haven't run into this scenario.

I went for a variance and the neighbors protested and  (NIMBY) I was denied the variance.

Out of politeness - they often protest and tell me not to worry about it - but I insist and they usually never refuse it twice.
