. - It is very possible they just signed the first person they could, or relaxed the criteria, or didn't try or didn't at all verify their previous rental.

It's kind of a break I take and find it relaxing.

My STRs require a flight (in Hawaii) so on the day after their check out I send them a friendly note hoping they enjoyed their stay, I ask for feedback and ask for their suggestions for improvements (this way the negatives stay PRIVATE, this gives them a non review place to vent just In case), tell them I hope they had a safe and relaxing flight home, and finish up letting them know I will be leaving them 5* review in the ‘next few minutes).

So being a holiday weekend I will not be able to get anywhere until Tuesday.

I do know REI requires a lot of time put into it, and I've worked 95 hour work weeks before, but at least I'll have some say over the hours and I'll be off on holidays!
