I also shopped sales, scratch-n-dent, and package deals for appliances.Found ways to cut corners financially - bought materials from the Habitat for Humanity store, resurfaced damaged/ugly countertops instead of replacing them (Miracle Method), called in favors from handy friends to save on installation/repair, etc.Some things I would have done differently:Use a short-term lender (hard/private money).

Organizing the stuff in the local food pantry, Habitat for Humanity, literacy volunteer (helping to teach somebody to read for an hour) are eeeasy examples of things that are in every tiny town everywhere.

Maybe with the contractor there fixing other things around the house he can show or tell me how to put one in.The home owner was saying the Habitat for Humanity store had a lot of good thing that are a lot cheaper than buying from Lowe's.

My main conclusion is that I am really glad I have a top notch plumber to work with, and it helps me judge the work of other contractors where I have zero interest in doing that skill myself (I don't want to be an electrician, at all).The last option I didn't see anyone mention is join a Habitat for Humanity work crew.

Just two days ago, I was imagining a tiny house village outside of the city covered in trees.Q: Would  tiny homes under the legal size of habitat stucture, be subject to same standards/compiablility issues mentioned with hotel fees, lot limits, and # restrictions?
