CR would not be my top choice for retirement but I am not personally fond of the beach and I adore street food culture which Costa Rica doesn't have a lot of.

Extra costs for grabbing a fast dinner of morning coffee instead of cooking because of the long commute.When you add in the extra costs, often your house hold budget will remain the same whether you buy the expensive/close house or the far out cheap house, just instead of higher housing costs you have higher auto/child care/food costs.Plus when you add in the part of your life you loose sitting on the freeway, instead of at your kid's T-Ball game, and your composure when coming home after battling traffic, stressed, etc. you are really giving up a lot of your life.I have had life with a 3 hour commute each way, and the ten minute commute. 

Yes I charge myself very high labor costs and reward myself with free food from Wendy's, Chili's and sometimes Texas Roadhouse if I'm lucky.

This results in a much higher QBI deduction of $16k ($80k x 20%).If you're over the income threshold, it gets even more complicated.Obviously, every scenario is different and you should consult your CPA but it's definitely some food for thought!

fixed 30 yr I recently got at 4.75 for a cash out refi. just food for thought..

The problem was there were pug marks from cats on the stairs as the cats used it as a scratch post, and once the furniture was removed you could see the stains from food and ground in dirt around the areas where the furniture was.

Also, there is a meeting during the day on a Friday each month about Buying/Selling Notes...a wide range of experience levels attend that one (the food is good....LOL)...
