Agree with @Brock Mogensen, interviewing the sponsors is great, but talking with other pure-passive investors is probably the best way to see what the true experience is like.

even as a Realtor, I like to suggest to potential client's to interview a few agents before beginning the process.

A lot of the successful investor that are interviewed on the BP podcast are proof of that.
