Usually land that close to military base is wrought with restrictions because of live fire arms and ordinance ranges, air traffic, density regulations to handle basic utility infrastructure, etc...I love the thought process your after but sounds like it would be best left to a sophisticated investor who has experience both in development and government contracting.

My own impression is those half in and half out  (they like the government check but not any extra oversight, contract terms or tenant quality issues) and those lukewarm have the most problems with Sec 8.....

I think this is a good post and I will play devils advocate to the responses just for the heck of it.The main replies have been a) the economy is fine don't worry about it and b) were in this for the long haul don't worry about itBut remember, we live in a world where the economy is so weak that investors, businesses and even banks and governments are watching to see what financial engineering will be needed to keep the train on the tracks.
