General contractors who do good work are busy, and they do not give a damn about your "proposed" or "desired" timeline unless you're a bigshot with a historic track record of throwing them multiple $250k jobs per year (oh, and GCs completely ignore "but I'll send you my future business!"

No one is immune to acting in an otherwise unsavory manner because of the force of self-interest.With all of that in mind, most of the time when I see something I'm disappointed with it usually comes back to something I can point to, i.e. forgetting to put some clause in a lease, seeing something at a property but ignoring or forgetting about it, etc.
