If investing in that studio style, I’d highly recommend only the best asset qualities, i.e. walk-in with no stairs, good area, golf course or lake view, etc. 

Being able to do min one week stays would be nice if that would allow the property to generate more revenue.If the property has already appreciated a fair amount in 2 years it would be a bummer to sell now just because the rate is high. 

So, either the purchase price is very high, or your expenses are high. 

It looks like they are offering a lease as well but I would highly recommend paying a local real estate attorney for a lease.

Several factors could explain why the homeownership rate remains relatively high.

To @Bruce Lynn point, the rents are not high compared to house values right now - shortage of supply is driving up the prices.  

One of the biggest complaints with DSTs is the high cost/fees associated with them.

I've done it four times in and around Chicago so I highly recommend it.

If not, I would highly recommend doing so!
