It sounds like this will be $1k negative each month hence it is hurting your chances towards financial freedom.

Plan for the long term and take real estate where you want it to take you (great wealth, a nest egg, financial freedom or something else) and know there are a ton of people who want to see you succeed.

to be a private pilot in the US hands down one of our great freedoms here in our great country. .. nothing like it in the world frankly.. had issues with my medical.. and just decided after 30 plus years and never denting anything that retired pilot sounded like a good thing.. not that I did not have knocking knees a few times when I came back to mother earth :) 

Rentals will only generates hundreds of dollars a month (each)... but if you can manage to get say 10 of those, that’s $3,000-$5,000 a month in consistent income... so step by step you build your path to financial freedom!
