Most people aren't trying to screw other people over, but we do happen it live in a law suit happy nation - and one of the highest litigated professions in that country, too. 

Some may be easier to communicate with, but they all screw you in the end.

If the plaster is pulling away from the lath (horse hair and glue eventually fails), you may  be able to use drywall screws and buttons (washes) to pull it back in-place.  

Make it or live with the fact that I had royally screwed my family and their future.

I totally understand the reason for the landlord/tenant laws, but it sure seems like the honest landlords get screwed by the current system.

I know this is what the tenants from hell are hoping for, but if it is a few hundred dollars, I'd absorb the loss and tell them to screw off and then block their number.

If you were looking into ways to save on taxes other than depreciation, most of those things DO screw with your ability to get a mortgage.... so getting you focused on depreciation is great for me since it means I'll be able to do a mortgage for you in 18 months when you're in the market.
