The SFV is a great place to start since it will be a bit less competitive and less expensive than West Los Angeles, etc.Keep asking questions, there are lots of helpful people in LA, on the BP website.

Don't go strictly off of the tax assessment website, most of the time those valuations are way off.

We used their online appeal website and they rejected the appraisal!  

Granted I haven't driven that area in a few years but I didn't like what I saw back then....too many people/adult males "hanging out" during the middle of the day when most people are working.
