ok i was just wondering as a first time home buyer would this be a big mistake going online and using websites like Trulia zillow etc to look for my house and just contact that listing agent and set up a meeting to look at the house and if i like just buy it at the listing price? 

I'm glad I found this website, the podcasts and fine people who all seem focused on helping each other rather than competing against each other. 

I use this website called Niche to get an idea on the area by zip codes.

Many time when you show up in person, it not only help build relationship but they also waive the fines, after all they are doing their best for their residents by accepting non paying job and trust me it is lots of work and time they all allocate.

And there are plenty of apartment rental websites, which you can use.

@Karen Emery So far I've made 2 cheap wordpress websites for buyers and sellers and just done free postings on craigslist and FB groups, and some cold calling from driving for dollars.
