If your primary motivation for creating an LLC is asset protection, then maybe an umbrella insurance policy is all you need (especially if, at least for the time being, you only own one or two rental properties).  

I read that it is a good idea to have properties under an LLC for asset protection.

As for laptop protection, I think the surge box protects that(?)

So my question for future protection is in the event this balance is very high and I don't want to be stuck with it. 

What should I do to protect my rights in addition to documenting all these attempts? 

Bought a rental prop in 2019, thought I was doing the right thing by placing in LLC for asset protection.

For my flips, Foremost is the go-to carrier and offer a true Flip Insurance policy to protect you fully.

Safeco's independent agent wasn't sure (she's still investigating), but I am wondering if anyone here had a similar experience and how they went about making sure they are properly protected?

Sometimes they recommend an "ERISA" full blown 401(k) for the added benefit of stronger bankruptcy protections.
