It should help with whatever non-commuter business you can generate though.I'd hire a real marketing pro well before you launch, while you can still tweak strategy and messaging.One other note on your employees.

If you are talking auction properties, or bank-owned or short sale properties, often times there will be additional restrictions on the purchase, such as a 30 day period before you can re-sell, non-assignment, or non-redemption (selling/renting the property back to the original distressed homeowner).

So, here is the interesting thing: A Realtor cannot pay a referral to a non-licensed person if the Realtor represented one of the parties in the sale as a Realtor (i.e. listed the property, seller or buyer is a client etc.).
