Adam,Just a guess, but maybe the mortgagee (or another party with an interest) on the property was partway through a foreclosure action, and bought it at auction to protect their interest.

How is your lease does it recognize late or partial payments, is there a specific late fee.Your ability to process an eviction action has steps you'd need to follow and it is in the state guidelines.
