Lloyds actually closed their Yen book to non-Yen earners in April due to the size of the Yen book growing very quickly to a size which their Head Office were not happy to see compared to other currencies - most of these new Yen loans coming from US based applicants.

So now you have $3,400 MORE to invest every year after the first year (the $3,400 actually grows by 3% every year but I’m not sure how to compound the difference) In 15 years that’s another $110,000 and in 30 years $450,000 at 8% yield.

think of it on a larger scale.motorola - for example - if they refinance their corp headquarters to draw out capital for a project or just to boost up their cash accessibility, or for whatever reason - they're tapping into one of their many assets, converting equity into cash by taking out a loan (liability) in order to somehow grow their business.the corporation does this - not any one individual.
