As Mark stated above, proving 2 years of income is essential and write offs (as necessary and tempting as they can be) can place some serious road blocks on your path to home ownership.

So, I'm going to take the opposite side of this argument.I think things like 'interest rates are so low that it is causing crazy high prices....etc' arguments miss the mark.

Mine is currently structured so that I pay interest only payments until that 10 year mark after which it becomes fully amortizing.
