The walls are a similar story but since the drywall (not mold/mildew resistant) from a previous remodel was jenky, they just paneled right over it.

Regarding the laundry vent, I was told by my inspector last year that a smooth wall metal type vent should be used and should only travel a short distance from the machine.

What is the step by step rules to a foreclosure auction??
20 November 2015 | 6 replies
Sometimes you are better off making the offer through a third party, lawyer or agent, you want to be arms length to be safe.Try to inspect the property before bidding, sometimes the mortgagor (owner) will damage the property just to get even with the mortgagee (lender), like removing all the dry wall, pouring cement down the commode, blocking the vent line (from the roof) with a tennis ball (keeps toilet from working right), short circuiting the electrical system, over flowing the sinks....etc.Be aware you are paying interest from the date of the sale until settlement, if it take the bank 6 months to ready this property for transfer, it could cost you thousands of dollars.Be very careful............ it is easy to make a mistake......look at the property, talk to owner, talk to trustee and auctioneer, read the contract before bidding.2) How do I prepare for the auction?

1885 Brick Foundation - Cause for concern?
19 November 2017 | 2 replies
If the brick is unable to dry out sufficiently, the water content - particularly in the outer wythe - will freeze and cause the brick to spall or crack. These walls are often 2-3 wythes of brick thick, so the external face can be in pretty rough shape and the wall still have sufficient structural integrity to carry the load of the building.

plumbing in houston... always galvanized??

Old metal lines are usually so packed with corrosion that your water barley flows.I probably would not purchase as a rental but definatly as a flip assuming price adjustment to reflect costs.the pex or something to replace though on the house would require walls to be ripped out no?
